The Picasso drawing is I believe a lithograph. The artwork was originally gotten at an art exhibit in Massachusetts. Time is unknown as the original purchaser is no longer alive. The approximate date is in the mid 1900's, for sure before 1980. The drawing from the data I have was originally purchased and delivered rolled up and then at a later date was framed. The paper does not have any watermarks that I can see nor does it have any markings on it as to version number, pencil marks etc... I put a UV light behind the print and it blocks the light - as in it doesn't "spread" the UV light. When I put my finger along the dark parts of the print, it seems a bit bumpy, as in I don't think that it is a modern print reproduction.
13" X 20" (inches)
Hello, this item is a 13 x 20 inch artwork attributed to Pablo Picasso, likely a lithograph or print, depicting a stylized female portrait rendered in delicate, linear black ink with subtle wash accents. From the description, it appears the piece was purchased in Massachusetts in the mid-1900s, certainly predating 1980, and lacks visible watermarks or edition markings, though it presents textural qualities (such as slight surface bumps) suggestive of genuine printing techniques rather than modern mechanical reproduction. Its blocked UV response and paper characteristics point toward vintage production, but without edition details or provenance, definitive authentication remains cautious.
