Pink tourmaline and diamond ring.. This was my grandmothers ring.. It’s possibly 1950-1970.. The pink stone looks approx 18mm x 13mm and the round diamonds look approx. 4mm.. There are #18 round diamonds.. The stamp inside the ring has a B inside of a diamond shaped box then it has 14k..
I got it from my grandmother.. Dont really know anything else about it..
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful vintage turmalin and diamond gold ring. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The ring has a lovely and very classic design that never seems to go out of fashion. According to your description of the diamonds they are 0,25 ct each which adds up to 4,5 in total carat weight. It is hard to determine the colour and the clarity of the diamonds based on photos however all in all it adds up very nicely. The turmalin has a beautiful colour and is 13 ct which is a good size. The ring itself is made of 14 kt yellow gold.
I believe that the ring would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the ring has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the ring. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Thank you for the additional information with regards to total carat weight. I will get back to you later today with an updated appraisal taking this new information into consideration.
Thank you
Hi What decade do you think this ring is from? Thanks
I believe you are quite right in dating the ring to be from the 1950s-1970s. It is a style and design that has been in fashion for many years.
Kind regards
The pink tourmaline stone is about 13 carats and the 18 diamonds are .25 carats not .08-.09ct each for a total of 4.5cts..
Thanks Michelle
