I was told it was from the Qing dynasty. It was bought by my Grandfather in an antique shop in British Columbia, Canada before I was born. It is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks or yellowing in the glaze or porcelain.. I think he said it was called a Rouleau Vase.
11 inches high x 5 inches wide
Hello,
This porcelain Rouleau-style vase is a tall, cylindrical vessel measuring approximately 11 inches in height and 5 inches in diameter. The decoration features an intricate famille rose palette, showing elegant female figures in traditional attire within a landscape under a blossoming tree, accompanied by calligraphic inscriptions and a red seal. These stylistic choices are characteristic of Chinese porcelain from the late Qing Dynasty (19th century), though similar motifs were reproduced well into the 20th century for both domestic and export markets.
The scene composition, brushwork, and overglaze enamel tones suggest the vase may have been produced during the Guangxu period (1875–1908) or slightly thereafter. The absence of a reign mark on the base is consistent with utilitarian or decorative wares sold in antique shops, often appealing to Western collectors. The piece’s excellent condition—without chips, cracks, or glaze yellowing—adds to its value. While it was reportedly purchased in British Columbia before the owner was born, further verification of provenance would support higher valuation.
