This is a beautiful lamp that I found at an estate sale that is ruby red and what appears to be cut crystal. I couldn’t find any exact matches online but similar items were listed as Czech Bohemian cut crystal. It also works as you can see in one of the pictures.
From bottom of pedestal to top of finial it is 33 1/2 inches and without the pedestal it is 30 1/2 inches and the pedestal is approximately 8 inches wide
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Your information is correct; this is Bohemian glass with ruby cut-to-clear elements as well as clear elements. Bohemian glass (sometimes called Bohemia crystal) is one of Europe’s most famous luxury glass traditions, and it carries centuries of artistry, technology, and cultural influence. There are several workshops working in this tradition and I'm not drawing an attribution based on the shape or cut patterns.
While these lamps are quite beautiful, the market for them is quite soft at the moment - most lamps of this size and style that come to auction usually sell for less than $200.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Bohemian ruby cut-to-clear brass mounted table lamp
unattributed maker, Czech republic area, early/mid 20th Century
Of circular section with flaring trumpet form over bulbous body, on a domed foot on shaped octagonal brass base. Electrified.
33-1/2 inches overall height
CONDITION: This lamp appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Unknown
$ 100-200*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
