The drawing/etching was purchased in Malaga, Spain in 2000. It is in pristine condition probably because it has never been removed from the frame. I believe the signature is from Guillermo Silva Santamaria.
It's around 17x6 when measuring the drawing, not the frame size.
Hello, this item is a hand-colored drawing or etching titled “La Dama de la Flor”, signed “G. Silva S.” and accompanied by a note stating “Hand Coloured.” While the work is attributed by the owner to Guillermo Silva Santamaría (1921–2007), a Colombian surrealist and master printmaker, the signature does not match known authenticated examples of Silva Santamaría’s full name, nor does the drawing style or palette clearly align with his highly symbolic and often monochromatic aquatint technique. Instead, the illustration’s whimsical style, elongated format (approx. 17 x 6 inches), and light humor suggest a different, possibly more decorative or regional artist working under a similar name or with an abbreviated signature.
Without a verified catalog reference or secure provenance linking this directly to Guillermo Silva Santamaría, the attribution must be considered speculative.
