I have an old sword that looks to me like a French sabre briquet but I can't find one online that looks quite like mine. It has quite a bit of wear and age on it, rusty, chips in the blade, and the handguard is slightly bent, etc. Despite the wear the sword is still very sturdy, no wobbleing or clinking. the handle has 28 ribs and the aforementioned hand guard that starts from the pommel and curves to the top of the handle on to the other side where it curves upward and ends in a little ball. the pommel seems to be seperate from the handle and connected to the blade through the handle. The blade however, also seems to be connected to the hand itself, I'm not sure if it was welded after the fact or if that is the original design. The blade is thinner than the ones I saw online as well as less curved. There are markings on the handle that look like N.0106.

Approximate dimensions: Full length- 29 and 3/8 inches Hand guard width- 5 and 1/8 inches Handle length- 5 and 1/2 inches Blade length- 23 and 7/8 inches Blade width at base- 1 and 1/8 inches Blade width at end- 7/8 inch

All that I know is that my Grandfather found it and then gave it to me.
