Bronze 30" Height 22" Width
Unknown
Dear Caprice,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a Southeast Asian rain drum made out of brass or less with the measurements of 30" in height and 22" width. Such rain drums are typical for the region of Burma Laos, Thailand, and neighboring regions. The technical details and the corrosion of the surface of the inside of this piece are a hint that this piece was made in the late 20th or 21st century.
Comparable modern rain drums were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 300 to 600 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
