This is a painting of a Rainbow Trout by Artist Wm Zimmerman. Height: 16 inches / Width: 20 1/4 inches. Material: Aluminum Frame & Glass. I do apologize for the quality of the pictures as I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone. (Please Note If you have any questions at all just ask.)
Another painting I inherited from my father and this time of a Rainbow Trout. My dad loved Fly-fishing and took me on several fly-fishing trips & he even made his own flies at home. We went to Grayling Michigan a few times for grayling trout & to Yellowstone's Fire Hole river and alot of boat trips out West.
The appraised work appears to be a mixed media (possibly watercolor and gouache) work on paper by American artist William Zimmerman (1937-2011). In the tradition of other ornithologist artists like John James Audubon, Zimmerman illustrated important texts like The Birds of Indiana and Waterfowl of North America among others. He is known for a precision and meticulous rendering of both bird illustrations and other wildlife subjects. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. In may cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
Hello,
The appraised value provided above was extrapolated from auction comparables examined in October 2019.
Thanks.
Where did you get the appraised value? I have the same print. Thanks.
