This is a traditional Moroccan wool rug woven by the Beni M'Guild tribe, a Berber (Amazigh) group from the Middle Atlas Mountains. These rugs are known for their dense pile, rich colors, and geometric designs. Typically using dark colors, the use of cream, lavender, blue, sage and orange distinguish it from others.
When Beni M'Guild rugs of this size come to auction, they tend to bring fair market prices ranging between $1,500-2,500 though the use of blue in this rug warrants a slightly higher price of $2,000-3,000; note that this is a lower price than the retail prices most private sellers and/or rug dealers might price this at.
