In my parent's house, no idea anything about them. I am hoping to see if they are worth anything or not

Hi Geoff,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Cut to clear is a glassmaking technique where a layer of colored glass is cut away to reveal a clear layer underneath, creating intricate patterns and designs. This method is commonly used in crystal glassware, vases, bowls, and decorative pieces.
These lamps would originally have been oil lamps that were later fitted into electrified lamps. The combination of cranberry colored glass, brass standards and trim, and stepped white marble bases, is quite attractive and makes this pair of lamps worth - at auction - between $300 and $500 for the pair.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A pair of antique brass, marble and cranberry cut-to-clear fluid lamps
American, late 19th or early 20th Century
Each of bulbous cranberry glass form with cut-to-clear reserves on lobed brass standards, on stepped white marble plinths with brass elements. Later electrified.
26 inches tall; diameter 6 inches
CONDITION: Later electrified. Value assumes no chips, breaks, repairs or losses.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$300-500 for the pair*
