Approximately 6" x 4". Owned by my grandmother who was born in New York in the 1880's. Probably acquired this bag in the 20's or 30's. Has one damaged corner and some dirt on the lining.

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful rhinestone evening bag. Such vintage accessories are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
It is a beautiful rhinestone evening bag with a lovely motif with an embroidered flower wreath in the middle of all the rhinestones. The design and the look of the bag is very typical of the late 1800s where this type of accessories was the highest fashion.
Today there are quite a few collectors for these items however the condition is very important to the estimate and unfortunately the interior of the handbag shows clear signs of wear and use as well as the damaged exterior corner of the handbag. And also if the bag has a designer or fashion house name on it the items also tend to obtain higher prices. This has to be taken into account when pricing a collectors item like this.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online vintage accessories auction, where I believe the evening bag has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful bag. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
