I believe this is a early American rocking chair. It has a leather round seat that looks original. It is 33" tall and 25" wide from arm to arm
I do not know the history but I got it from my Aunt.

mid 19th Century
With arched tablet crest and vasiform splat, serpentine arms raised on tapered supports, the shaped seat inset with circular embossed leather panel and featuring fleur de lys, all raised on baluster-turned legs joined by an H-stretcher, on rockers. Marked underneath 13.
