Hi Nishelle,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Michael Bang (b. 1944 – d. 2013) was the son of noted designer Jacob E. Bang and became a significant designer at Holmegaard starting in 1968. According to Collector's Weekly, he initially worked with Bjørn Wiinblad and Royal Copenhagen before committing to Holmegaard. Over his career, he developed iconic collections like “Palet”—a colorful, mid-century series of vases, bowls, and spice jars, noted for its vibrant colors and double-layer (cased) glass technique.
In the 1990s, Holmegaard collaborated with Royal Copenhagen on a number of art glass initiatives featuring Bang’s designs. One notable example is a 1995 Spherical Art Glass Vase, created by Michael Bang, signed, numbered, and highly sculptural—described as part of a limited series made between 1992–1996.
This three-piece garniture - a fancy term for a set, sometimes with vases; when with lighting, it's a lamp or candelabra and candle sticks as in this case - has a great presence and would appeal to collectors of Mid- and Late-20th Century Modern lighting.
Based on what comparable lamps, candlesticks and related garnitures have sold for at auction, this has a fair-market value of $600-900 for the group.
