Hi Rosemary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Royal Doulton Nisbet dolls are collectible porcelain dolls produced as a collaboration between Royal Doulton, the famous English ceramics manufacturer, and Ralph and Margaret Nisbet, founders of Nisbet Limited, a company known for high-quality collectible dolls.
Kate Greenaway was a beloved Victorian-era English illustrator and author best known for her charming illustrations of children in idyllic, 18th-century-inspired clothing. Her work was immensely popular in children's books, greeting cards, and fashion design during the late 19th century. Greenaway-style dolls became a collectible category. These dolls were often dressed in costumes that mirrored the pastoral, Regency-era clothing seen in her illustrations—high-waisted dresses, bonnets, pantalettes, and sashes.
Royal Doulton Nisbet issued the Firstborn Swansdown doll in 1982.
While some sellers are asking between $100 and $150 for the dolls they're selling in online platforms such as eBay and Etsy, when these come to auction, they don't bring quite as much. Other new/in-the-box dolls from this edition usually sell between $60 and $90 at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
