This rug was donated and sent to Haiti prior to the donors realizing that their grandmother’s rug is “possibly a 100 yr old Egyptian or Iranian rug”🤔. I have no tape measure in Haiti to measure, my apologies. The edges have been slightly compromised(shown in pictures). That unfortunately, is all of the information I have until it gets back to the states.
Donated to us by Ryan and Leanna Quillan in Grand Rapids, MI. It belonged to Ryan’s grandmother (name unknown).
Hi Amanda,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This isn't quite 100 years - more like mid 20th Century, but a nice rug all the same.
No worries about exact dimensions - this looks to be *about* 6x9 feet and is what I've based the value on...if it's considerably larger or smaller than that I would be happy to reconsider the value so let me know if you have a chance to measure it.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Persian hand-loomed silk or wool carpet
Made in Iran, mid 20th Century
Red central field with two rows of geometric medallions, within a green border, fringed selvedges
(approximately 6 by 9 feet)
CONDITION: minor wear commensurate with age and use. Value assumes no significant odors, stains, tears or repairs.
PROVENANCE: inherited
$800-1,200*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
