This is a satin light blue glass animal-shaped dish, possibly depicting a deer or donkey. It features a round base with four round feet and gold-flecked ears. There is a sticker on the bottom that says “Made in Italy Murano.” The glass is quite heavy for its size and has a smooth, matte surface consistent with satin or frosted glass styles. I have not been able to locate another example online, and I’m unsure of the maker or exact origin. I purchased it secondhand while looking for unique vintage decor for my bedroom. I would love to know if this is a genuine Murano glass piece or simply inspired by the Murano style.

Hi Tamara,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The donkey (asino in Italian) holds symbolic, cultural, and practical significance in Italy, though its meaning can vary depending on the context—ranging from folklore and religion to regional traditions and stereotypes. With its large ears and prominent muzzle, this charming bust adds to the charm of this design.
I'm not coming up with an attribution to any known maker but the foil label indicates that this was made in the 1950s; other Murano satin glass ashtrays of comparable vintage have been selling at auction (akin to wholesale prices) for between $60 and $90
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
