This is a scorpion and several small leaves and stems from a plant included in a rather large piece of amber which is polished on one side and naturally rough on the back. It is 86 mm long, 75 mm at the widest point and about 30 mm at the thickest point. It is extremely clear and shows detail of the inclusions very well.
I bought it in an antique shop in Minnesota.
This is a relatively large piece of what is referred to as Burmite amber which is 100 Million years old from the Cretaceous Period. In the amber are natural plant leaves and what is likely a Pandinus Imperator Scorpion inclusion in the amber piece. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales. Retail asking prices may be higher and vary.
