What I think to be seawater pearls. There is a necklace with matching earrings that are trimmed in gold.

Dear Gretchen,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please measure the necklace and again are there any marks on the metalware?
Thanks
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful set of pearls. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The earrings and necklace was made in the first half of the 1900s based on the style and material. I believe it the gold beads may be goldplated and the lock made of 14 kt gold however I cannot see the marks clearly from the photographs. Perhaps you can describe the for me. The set is very charming and this particular style was very modern in the first half of the 1900s.
Today pearls are not that valuable nor as fashionable as they used to be therefore the estimate is fairly low.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellry auction, where I believe the pearl necklace and earrings has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the set. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Sabrina,
The necklace length is 13" to the latch and 14" through the latch and there are no scratches on the latch.
While the style may be ancient, the set was bought new.
Gretchen
