This appears to be a truely beautiful Serapi rug, Persia, circa 1900, with a blue anchor medallion on a madder orange field, ivory colour spandrels, some wear but overall in good condition. These serapi carpets have been a favorite at oriental rug auctions thru the years. The estimate is based on similar rugs sold or offered at auction.
