Six chairs, two with arm rests, made of solid teak. These are in excellent condition and have a Southwestern carved pattern on the back rests.

This handsome set of 6 chairs is made in the Southwestern Mission style in the first half of the 20th Century. Elements characteristic of the style include the straight lines of the frame that are alleviated by the stepped stiles and striated, notched back.
Historically, this style of chairs tends to sell better in the Southwest, at auction houses like Santa Fe Art Auction or Monarch Auctions, as they would look out of place in East Coast auction houses that tend to sell early American furniture, in the Queen Anne, Chippendale, Federal or Classical styles.
Based on recent auctions of other sets of Southwest Mission chairs, this group would most likely sell between $500 and $1,000.
