I think the wood is mahogany. The face of clock is metal with roman numeral numbers. The glass in the neck is painted blue with gold leaf on it. The bottom is square and looked like the neck, but it was flaking off badly and i removed it. I know that was a mistake. The pendulum is brass. There are no markings or signatures on it.
I bought it at auction in Pink Hill, N. C. It was brought to auction from Pennsylvania.
This is a vintage, later 20th century, 31-day banjo form wall clock that was produced in Korea. The wood casing is done in cherry and the glass has a reverse transferprinted blue and gilded decoration and there are brass mounts flanking each side. This is marked Korea, for the country of origin on the backside. It was not produced by Seth Thomas, nor made for Tiffany & Co. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of exact matches to this clock. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
I sent more pictures. On the back is written Korean.
There are no additional images showing here on this screen. Did you send the photos via email somewhere?
Ye s, I sent them I think to meat to. com. I will try again
You will need to upload the photos to this page. Emailed images will not arrive to me. Is there a Seth Thomas mark and a Tiffany & Co mark on this? Your posting describes this as a Seth thomas tiffany banjo clock, however there are no Seth Thomas marks nor Tiffany & Co marks visible in the photos here.
It has Korea on the back
It has Korea on back
To clarify, this is not marked Seth Thomas nor Tiffany & Co on it anywhere?
That is correct.
Thank you for confirming
