The football is a Baden brand "Collector Series" football, that is Miami branded (has the team logo on it). The football is half 'classic brown' leather and half white leather (which is where the signatures are, making them more visible). The signatures are all in permanent marker (Sharpee) and most include both the name and jersey number. It has about 100 player signatures. Many of these players played in and won a National Championship (January 2002), and 13 of them went on to play in the NFL. The football has been in a display case since it was signed, and is in excellent condition.

Hi Korey,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The 2000–2001 University of Miami Hurricanes football team is significant as one of the most talented teams in college football history. The 2001 team went 12–0 and won the BCS National Championship, dominating opponents with speed, depth, and future NFL stars. The roster included Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Andre Johnson, Vince Wilfork, and many others. Miami set records for NFL draft selections and first-round picks, redefining athleticism and swagger in college football and cementing the program’s legacy as a powerhouse.
Your story of how you came to have these signatures is great and certainly adds to its value. It might be worth having this ball authenticated (not something Mearto can do) by one of the authentication services: PSA/DNA, James Spence Authentication (JSA), and Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and having a signed/notarized affidavit by you with some photos of you with the team to confirm your story.
Other Univ of Miami team-signed balls (none authenticated) from other seasons have sold at auction for between $800 and $2,500; since this was from the championship season, an unauthenticated value for this would be $3,000-5,000. If you're looking to insure this, I would suggest $8,000.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Hi Delia,
I worked very closely with the team for two seasons: the 2000 team with Coach Butch Davis (where we went 11-1 and won the Sugar Bowl) and the 2001 team with Larry Coker where we went 12-0 and won the National Championship at the Rose Bowl (for which I got a Nat'l Championship ring, but I wasn't planning on selling that). I was an Athletic Trainer (getting my Masters in Sports Medicine at UM), so I was at most of the practices, games, rehab sessions, and team events. I carried that football around myself, and had them sign it over many different occasions (sorry, but I can't remember exact timelines) during my time with the team. I have dozens of pictures of myself with these guys: on the sideline, in the locker / training room spaces, and on the road - if it was ever necessary to use those to support the level of authenticity. On the ball, I count about 100 signatures, including but not limited to: Willis McGahee, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis, Ken Dorsey, Reggie Wayne, Jeremy Shockey, Andre King, Najeh Davenport, Bryant McKinnie, Darryl Jones, Mike Rumph, DJ Williams, Phillip Buchanon, and Joaquin Gonzalez - all of whom played in the NFL.
