The jersey is a gift from the Italian national coach Luciano Spalletti. It was presented to my son at his home in Tuscany in front of the world’s largest jersey collection (photos of the handover are available). Diego Maradona has signed the back. It is unworn.

Hi Sven,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a Napoli home jersey, featuring the Buitoni sponsor, the Italian tricolor shield (Scudetto), and the NR (Nicola Raccuglia) brand logo.
Diego Maradona (1960–2020) was an Argentine footballer widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport’s history. A dazzling dribbler with extraordinary vision, he led Argentina to victory at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, delivering iconic moments including the “Hand of God” goal and the sublime solo goal against England. Maradona elevated clubs such as Napoli, winning unprecedented Italian titles and transforming regional identity and pride. Beyond trophies, his charisma, flaws, and genius embodied football’s emotional power, making him a global cultural icon whose influence extends far beyond the pitch for fans, politics, media, and sport worldwide enduring.
A match-worn jersey signed by Maradona sold for £1,860 in October 2009 at Bonhams while Julien's got $2,880 for a signed Napoli shirt in a December 2021 sale of Sports Icons & Idols (the catalog doesn't indicate if it was game worn so the presumption is that it was not). Just a year ago, Pristine Auction sold another unworn but signed one for $2,340; all of these had estimates lower than their final prices realized but in the current red-hot sports collectibles market, this would likely do well with an estimate in the $1,500-2,500 range.
Note that retail prices will likely be higher.
