Hello Amanda,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. The item presented appears to be a woodblock triptych by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (歌川 國芳, Japanese; 1798 – 1861). The image depicts the following actors in a play titled "Kanadehon Chûshingura (仮名手本忠臣蔵):" Bandô Hikosaburô IV as Ichimonjiya Saihei (一もんじや才兵衛), Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Hayano Kanpei (早の勘平), and Onoe Kikujirô II as Okaru (おかる). The original impressions of this triptych was published by Sasa-ya Matabei in 1849. Something to note is that any reprints would estimate to a lower value.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of this triptych and other comparable prints by Kuniyoshi. Please note that asking or dealer prices may vary. Thank you and please take care.
