This is a late 19th century Chinese silver decorative ware. Though similar in ways to the kuduo style, this is a Chinese object and kuduo style wares hail from the continent of Africa. The marks seem to indicate that this may indeed be sterling silver, or 800 silver. It is recommended to take this to a local gold/silver buyer shop to have the metal tested (they do this at no charge, usually). The symbolism of the bag tied with rope is a Feng Shui object for good luck and fortune; it is a money bag and oftentimes the rat is associated with it as well. The estimate is based on this being a Chinese antique sterling silver decorative ware and is based on recent past actual recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking' prices may be higher and vary.
