Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a lovely set of salt and pepper shakers. Such antique and vintage silver items are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The small pagode silver shakers are made of sterling silver. This indicates that they were made in the 1900s probably around the 1930s-1940s. It is hard to tell the origin without any more marks however I would think that they could have been made as a kind of souvenir in the far east and then exported to USA and European countries. It is a very charming set of shakers. This type of shakers would have been very popular in order to show how well travelled the owner may have been.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver and objects of vertue auction, where I believe the shakers has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the pagode shakers. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
