Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful teacaddy. Such vintage boxes and teacaddys are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The teacaddy is made of silverplated metal. The marks underneath are give away as it says EP which means Electro Plated.
It was made in the late 1800s or perhaps early 1900s. It could be made in Britain however it could also have been made in America. Without any further marks it is hard to tell the origin of the teacaddy.
It is a nice item that I believe would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the teacaddy has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the nice teacaddy. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
