Hi Christina,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Corita Kent was an artist / designer / former religious sister (in the order of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary). She used her art to combine her religious faith with messages of social justice, activism, and visual art. The Hammer Museum notes her style "often used bright colors, bold typography or texts drawn from religious texts, literature, pop culture, signage, or other everyday media."
“Love is hard work” was made in 1985. Made the same year she made her well-known "Love" stamp, it is part of her later output and, In the artist’s archive / catalogue, it is identified with archive ID 85-06.
This print comes to auction from time to time and usually sells for less than $1,000; if you're looking to buy or sell this from a retail gallery or dealer, I should think you'd be expected to pay between $2,500 and $3,500.
