Six sectioned wood and paper folding screen
The screen has six sections, each section measuring 8 inches wide. The total height is 25-3/4 inches. The frame is 5/8" thick. The wood appears to be some kind of rosewood. The six paper drawings/paintings are protected front and back by what appears to be very thin diagonally glass rods. There is no damage to any of the glass rods. However, there is some discoloration of the drawings/paintings. There is also some damage to the uppermost carved area of four of the six sections.
There is limited information regarding this item. This was bought in Fukuoka, Japan in 1999 at an antique dealer's showroom. It has been in our possession since.

You have a nice Japanese folding screen. I think its made mid 20th century so its not antique yet. Hinges and the treated timber is shows me the age of the thing. Its made for decorative purposes only. The larger one's are room dividers and they serve more purposes. Not all decorations on the paper seem in fresh condition, some look a little worn out. I agree that the wood itself is rosewood. The carved parts are a little rough and that has also some impacts on the price. I feel if this folding screen came to an sale or auction it could fetch around the estimate.
