I have very limited information on this item. My mom bought this from an antique dealer when she lived in South America. It was bought during late 50s or early 60s in Columbia or Ecuador.

Hi Tracie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This has the look of a Nazca or Chimu terracotta or earthenware pot, from Pre-Columbian Peru, though the form was also made in Costa Rica; the style was also one that was made well into the 19th Century. From the wear on the base, this looks like a 19th Century example.
The large break in the rim significantly diminishes its value; it's now worth less than $100 at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Pre-Columbian style red-glazed earthenware jar
probably 19th Century
Of circular section and globular form, with tall flaring lip
Height: 6-1/4 inches; diameter of neck: 7 inches.
CONDITION: With a large chip loss to the rim but otherwise in good condition.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$75-100*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
