What does this mean?

This is a vintage later 20th century restaurant ware bowl in blue and white porcelain that is generally used for serving rice. The decoration on the body is known as rice cut and those areas are slightly thinner than the porcelain wall around it so to allow a lithophane effect in the light. These were made in China, Japan and Korea. The estimate varies by size is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
