It is a beautiful Chanel handbag. Such vintage designer handbags are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
In particular handbags from Chanel, YSL, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are very sought after second hand when in good condition. Your lovely Chanel handbag appears to be in fairly good condition with some minor signs of wear and use.
It has the classic chain with leather, the classic diamond pattern and the interlocking C's on the bottom of the handbag. The Chanel number indicates that it was produced in the 1980s-90s. The design of the Chanel handbags are always very elegant and classic and I believe most women dream of having one. However even second hand the prices are very high and often surprise at auction in particular when the handbag is something special. I love the size and shape of this particular handbag and would not be surprised if it were to fetch a very good price if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online handbag and accessories auction, where I believe the beautiful Chandel handbag has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the handbag. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

I have just added photos as you requested. My only concern is that in order to give you detail the flash on the camera makes it appear that there are flaws. The bag is in excellent condition. Also, please note that I did not acquire this bag from an auction. I inherited it from my mother.
