Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
According to this website (https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=12590), this appears to be an authentic - rather than fake - 1908 Chinese "Chihli" silver dollar coin. However, because of it's worn condition, it has comparatively modest value at auction but because it is hard to positively tell if this is authentic and not a fake, my value is conditional pending further authentication
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique 1908 Chinese "Chihli" silver dollar coin
1-1 /2 inches diameter
CONDITION: with wear
PROVENANCE: inherited
$8,000-12,000*
