This appears to be a Persian Bidjar rug that might be hand-knotted. These rugs, often dubbed the "Iron Rugs of Persia," originate from the Bijar region in Iran and are crafted with high-quality wool and occasionally silk, as yours does. It features a dense, compact pile and a pattern with geometric and floral motifs, typical of Bidjar rugs. The color palette is typical, including shades of red, with accents of blue, ivory, and other colors in the borders.
Persian Bidjar carpets fo this size can bring several thousand dollars when sold by an antique dealer or rug dealer but rarely bring more than $1,500-2,500 when sold at auction.
