This is a springfield 1873 rifle that looks to be in original, functional condition with only a few nicks to the wood. It has come to my understanding that this specific firearm is the shorter/more valuable version of the springfield 1873 with a saddle ring and that this version was carried on horseback in the battle of the big horn and that those are extremely valuable. This firearm's serial number is 75530. Which to my understanding dates it to 1877. No rust.
