The miniature bear is 3 1/2" h, with dark brown mohair and tan velvet face and feet . Embroidered nose and mouth . he has a swivel head and jointed arms and legs and has a Steiff button in his ear.

It is a cute teddy bear. However after having examined the photos very carefully we have come to the conclusion that it is not an authentic Steiff teddy bear. The way the teddys snout is two-coloured is not usual on Steiff teddys, the same goes for the large velvet paws. On Steiff teddys it would just be the surface and not the entire paw that was made with felt or velvet. The way the button has been put into the ear is also different - the ears are too small compared to ears on a Steiff teddy.
Your teddy bear is charming and cute however it is not a Steiff teddy and because it has been altered to look like a Steiff teddy it is in the category of a fake Steiff teddy.
The sentimental value it represents to you will be much higher than the market value.
