That does change the value, a little, to $400-600.
The market for these - and many other antiques - is not what it used to be.
I wonder if the value on the appraisal was for insurance? The values given at Mearto are for auction / fair market whereas insurance values are usually significantly higher - twice or three times as much.

sorry he is actually 13 X11" i had him at an appraiser years ago along with another steiff i own, i was told at that time they were worth about 3000 to 5000 thousand because they are both a rare make of the toy. did their value
drop that much over the years
