sterling silver. 5 3/4" long
My mother was the original owner. She purchased it new from 1960 to the mid 70's.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a silver sterling butterknife manufactured by Stieff company ( now since 1979 Kirk Stieff corporation), showing some flower decoration with an open shield for a monogram. It is quite difficult to name the particular pattern from the photos you provided, this could be rose, or primrose but most likely Lady Claire, hand engraved pattern, first introduced in 1920. The estimate is based on similar butterknives in similar condition sold at auction.
