Original oil(?) painting by Stephen Kaye of pale peach/pink flowers. Excellent condition. Framed.
40”x40”
Hello Debra,
Good morning! Thank you for submitting your item for an appraisal and for your patience.
The presented object appears to be an oil on canvas painting, which depicts a floral still-life and is signed at the bottom left "Stephen Kaye" (American, 20th Century). It measures 40 x 40 inches, is framed and looks to be in good condition.
The artist is unfortunately relatively unknown. However, there are records of his work turning up at auction in recent years. It seems that he has experimented with a number of different styles, including landscapes, floral works like your painting and even modernist portraits and abstract compositions. The hammer prices for his work are not particularly strong:

Based on these comparables and the overall quality of your work, I would estimate the current fair market value at $50 to 100, though retail and asking prices may vary.

Thank you!
Kind regards,
