Lithograph
Artist potentially based in NJ during the 1970s.
Dear Vanessa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be a multigraph print with unknown measurements. The drawing depicts an abstracted image with paper curtains and architecture. The artwork is signed by the Austrian artist
Anton (Toni) KRAJNC (1949).
Sadly no additional information for an artist with this name fitting in style and motif is given by reference books and databases.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 60 to 12 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Dear Vanessa,
Thank you for your email. Indeed this is a lithograph in colors by Anton Krajnc. I could find this motif in the databases and sadly his works sell in the named price range. Have a great Sunday.
With kind regards,
George
Hello! The artist is actually Anton (Toni) Krajnc from Austria. I'm not sure this makes a difference in appraisal, as previous of his works sold for between $100-300 which is only a little more than what you're suggesting. HOWEVER, what I'm curious about is the title of the piece. Because I cannot find an example of this one anywhere! Here are more examples of his work: https://www.invaluable.com/artist/krajnc-anton-d0p91nzomh/sold-at-auction-prices/ How does one determine the title of the piece? Thank you!
