Swarovski crystal figures are popular with collectors because they occupy a unique place at the intersection of craftsmanship, design, brand prestige, and collectability. Swarovski is known for its extremely high-quality, machine-cut crystal using proprietary technology introduced by Daniel Swarovski in 1895. Their cuts create exceptional sparkle (“brilliance”) due to high refractive index. Many figurines use Aurora Borealis (AB) coatings or specialty crystal colors that other makers do not have access to.
The Swarovski Jaguar Crystal Golden Shine #1096796 was introduced in 2012 and retired in 2016. These figures were originally retailed for nearly $450 (as indicated on the sticker) but they don't retain their value and usually sell at auction for around $200 though retailers can get ones in good condition for between $350 and $450.
