Hi Megan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This Kris has the unique and characteristic wavy blade used for fighting. The blade is sharp on both sides and has a widened neck, which acts as a guard. The blade is made of layers of different iron ores and meteorite nickel and its hilt is designed to be gripped like a pistol. These swords carry a deep spiritual and ceremonial importance. The design hasn't changed historically but this looks to have enough patina to date to the late 19th or early 20th Century.
These blades are not particularly rare, and when they come to auction, they almost always sell for less than $500, usually in the $200-300 range.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Indonesian kris and scabbard

24 inches overall length; width of hilt: 9 inches
