Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. This is an Indian Talwar sword. These swords were created in the Mughal period and onward, and illustrate a blending of Islamic weapon styling with traditional Indian motifs. The blade is thickest out towards the end, and weighted effectively for chopping. These swords developed a reputation for amputating limbs in combat. This particular piece is in excellent condition. The blade has some light pitting present, and the iron handle has a stable patina. The sheath is intact and in good shape. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 500-550 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
