Hi Jared,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Verdure tapestries β the lush, leafy landscape weavings often filled with trees, flowers, animals, and sometimes architectural ruins β were made in both France and Flanders. This tapestry panel does exhibit weaving typical of what was done in the 16th and 17th Century as well as wear commensurate with such age but it would be helpful to see the back of this. Are you able to take a photo of the back and attach it to this appraisal?
Additionally, any information about where this came from before your family owned it might provide some additional clues as to its age and/or origin.
Thanks in advance,
Delia
