This belonged to my great grandfather who traveled the world. I have no idea how old it is or where he got it as he travelled to Egypt several times. I framed it years ago as the fabric was beginning to deteriorate. I have never had it appraised, don’t know if it is an antiquity or what would like to know if I should keep it to pass down, or consider selling it as I am moving overseas in the future. Thank you May sell but only if the amount makes it worth while More photos available if you need.

Completely a fair question, Diane, thanks for asking!
I have worked with textiles - both historic and more modern - for going on three decades, as a dealer, as an auctioneer (working for auction houses on both US coasts (three of which had international offices) and as an appraiser. I can tell from the strength of the colors and the condition of the linen that this is not old; if it were old, the colors would be very faded (even if recently discovered in, say, a tomb, and the fabric would have weakened and the threads loosened.
I hope I've answered your questions but if not, please let me know.
Have a great day,
Delia
How do you know this is not an antiquity or value higher. I had one other look at it and they estimated value in the thousands. What is your background. Thank you
