6” x 11” - teapot. Some dings. Marks: Robert Hennell and Samuel Hennell (RH Over SH) with other marks including a Lion, Head of man in profile, and crowned lion. 1807 (Letter M). Ball feet appear to be later addition or were repaired at some point. Are these feet original to a Hennell piece and what is the current value?
My mother bought this in England between 1955 and 1963.

It is a beautiful teapot. Such silver teapots are being offered at auction on a regular basis. The shape of the teapot is very typical of an English teapot from the beginning of the 1800s. The teapot looks as if it has nice signs of wear and use. The feet of the teapot however look a bit odd. Normally the feet would be 2 on each side of the teapot and not one underneath the handle and the sprout. I think they may have been altered at a later date or added to the teapot. This will influence the estimate of the teapot.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the teapot has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the teapot. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
