It has been in the family for 4 generations. It has minor damage to one of the holders of the sugar bowl. Small dent on the teapot. Maple & Co. Tottenham mark, that is before they became Maple & Co. London in 1891.
The candleholder have no marks. It has been with the family at least since the 1930s that we know of. Could be earlier.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful set. Such vintage silverplated items are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The marks on the base are not silver marks but indicates that the items are silverplated. Silverplated items were particular popular around the turn of the previous century - that is 1880s-1930s. The set comprising of a pair of candlesticks, a coffeepot and creamjug and sugerbowl looks very solid so it may have been made for a large household or perhaps even for a hotel as part of their guest service. It has a lovely design. It appears to have some signs of wear and use which is what you would expect from items like these.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the silverplated items has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the silverplated items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
