Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a really cute teddybear. It is clear that it was a much loved and hugged teddy bear. Such teddy bears are being offered at auction on a regular basis. However when you put an estimate on old toys it is very important that the condition is next to new and unused which in a sense is sad when talking about toys. This bear has had a very good life. It dates from around the 1910-1920s. The snout and the ears looks English, however it could also be an American made teddybear. Due to the lack of eyes, fur and new pads on the feet the estimate is fairly low and may surprise if put up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online old toys auction, where I believe the teddy has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the teddybear. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
