I am told this is a steiff bear but I have not seen one quite like this. It is 16 inches tall, two toned color(white and yellow), glass eyes, mohair with a matching mohair belly button (protruding), bump on his back, wood chip filling, 3 claws on each paw and the nose and mouth are black embroidered.
owned by 91 year old woman it was her mothers. It has been stored for many years.
Hi Beth,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I'm a bit at a loss for finding an attribution; it could be Steiff but in my experience I've never seen one quite like this. I'm pretty sure it's German and early 20th Century.
