Print of the Last Supper on heavy paper, 17"H x 27"W Appears to be by Salvadore Dali, number 9 out of 65
Father bought in the 1980s.
Dear Michael - I am honored to continue assisting you with the works that your father purchased in the 1980s. This image is after Dali's 1955 oil painting depicting the "Last Sacrament", it is also commonly referred to as "The Last Supper". Unlike your last image which happily conforms to the data in "The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali" this work is considered by the same publication to be "after" Dali at best, at worst, a true forgery. I am sure that your father purchased this in good faith as an authentic item but in the 1980s the market was flush with so many unauthorized Dali editions that I think it was at times difficult for galleries to know the difference.
All that said, you will find that this image is still offered and sold at auction and as a decorative image still commands between $200 and $700USD. The price depends on how forthcoming and knowledgeable the auction house is regarding authenticity.
Do let me know if you have any additional questions and have a lovely evening.
Sincerely,
Erin-Marie
